Mechanical Design Engineer

Working closely with project, manufacturing and commissioning teams, you will take designs from initial concept through to production and installation.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n * Creating 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks\n\n * Designing bespoke mechanical equipment and assemblies\n\n * Producing bills of materials (BOMs) and technical documentation\n\n * Liaising with manufacturing teams to support production and assembly\n\n * Supporting projects through the full product lifecycle\n\n * Conducting design calculations and engineering analysis where required\n\n * Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met\n\n * Assisting with continuous improvement of existing products and design processes\n\nAbout You\n\nThe successful candidate will have:\n\n * Experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer position\n\n * Strong SolidWorks design experience\n\n * Experience designing industrial machinery, process equipment, special purpose machinery, or similar engineered products\n\n * Knowledge of fabrication, sheet metal, welded structures and mechanical assemblies\n\n * Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation\n\n * Strong problem-solving and communication skills\n\n * HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\n\nDesirable\n\n * Experience with thermal processing equipment, furnaces, kilns, dryers, ovens or process plant equipment\n\n * Familiarity with FEA and engineering calculations\n\n * Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes\n\nBenefits\n\n * Salary £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience\n\n * Opportunity to work on bespoke engineering projects\n\n * Long-term career development within a growing engineering business\n\n * Supportive and collaborative engineering environment\n\nIf you're a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on innovative, bespoke machinery projects using SolidWorks, we'd love to hear from you
